KC Busio on Upset Over Anyone's Legend: "We gotta stay lucid"
Karmine Corp support Alan "Busio" Cwalina reflected on the team's upset victory over LPL representatives Anyone's Legend in the first round of the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage. Following the surprising win, Busio discussed an unusual early-game encounter involving Lee "Tarzan" Seung-yong, champion priorities in the Best-of-One format, and the strong start for the LEC against the LPL.
During the interview, Busio addressed a tricky early-game situation where Anyone's Legend jungler Tarzan managed to approach Karmine Corp by flashing over a wall. The support explained that while his team had vision around the enemy jungle making the jungler's disappearance suspicious, the full extent of the play only became clear after the game concluded.
With the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage utilizing a Best-of-One format, teams have limited room for experimentation during champion selection. When asked whether Karmine Corp prioritizes comfort picks or explores a wider champion pool, Busio kept his response straightforward: "Just the best champions."
The victory contributed to a strong showing for the LEC against the LPL during the opening matches of the stage. Despite the positive result and the support of fans, Busio emphasized the need for continued focus: "It feels good. But it's just one game, so, you know, we gotta stay lucid. Keep going."
At the end of the interview, Busio named the team he would like to face in the next round. After being pressed by the interviewer for a direct answer, the support selected one of the tournament favorites: Gen.G.
The Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage runs from October 23 to October 31, featuring sixteen teams competing for a spot in the Knockout Stage. The tournament follows a five-round Swiss format where teams advance after three wins and are eliminated after three losses. Advancement and elimination matches are played in a Best-of-3 format using Fearless Draft, while all other matches are Best-of-1.
