Beast of Reincarnation: Game Freak and Fictions Discuss Launch Reaction
Game Freak, best known for the Pokémon series, has released its first-ever action RPG, Beast of Reincarnation, in partnership with publisher Fictions. The title launched on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on August 4, 2026.
The game follows a girl named Emma and her loyal dog, Ku, as they travel through a world consumed by nature after the collapse of civilization. Shortly after release, the development team held an interview to discuss player reactions to the combat system, atmosphere, and narrative twists.
Admitting the Need for Improvements
Director Kodama Kanta acknowledged that the game requires improvements. "There are still parts where players haven't been able to play comfortably," he noted. In response, publisher Fictions has already released patch v1.0.7 (v1.005.000), which includes bug fixes, boss balancing, and camera improvements.
Developers also promised to continue releasing updates to address control and interface issues that became apparent after launch.
