Media: Astralis look to add cmtry as a rifler
According to reports from Dust2.dk and Sébastien "KRL" Perez, Astralis are set to acquire Ukrainian player Mykyta "cmtry" Samolotov on loan from FUT. Interestingly, cmtry is expected to transition from his traditional AWPer role to playing as a rifler within the squad.
This move comes as Astralis reportedly faces a roster overhaul due to several upcoming contract expirations. With Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and Victor "Staehr" Staehr seeing their deals end this year, and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard's contract potentially expiring in late November, the organization is under pressure to secure new talent quickly.
The transition will be a significant adjustment for Mykyta "cmtry" Samolotov. He has not played as a rifler since his time with NAVI Youth in 2023. Recently, he has been sidelined at FUT following the arrival of Álvaro "SunPayus" García, amid a dip in his individual performance metrics.
If these reports hold true, the new Astralis lineup would feature a predominantly Eastern European core. According to Dust2.dk, the projected roster includes:
- Victor "Staehr" Staehr
- Love "phzy" Smidebrant
- Gytis "ryu" Glušauskas
- Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek
- Mykyta "cmtry" Samolotov (Loan)
- Filip "NEO" Kubski (Coach)
