AOOSTAR has expanded the lineup of its NEX395 mini-PC with two new configurations targeting the Chinese market. The updates focus on reducing the entry price by cutting memory capacity and removing the pre-installed SSD, rather than changing the core silicon. The new models retain the high-end AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor and Radeon 8060S graphics, but buyers must choose between a 64 GB LPDDR5X system without storage or a version with a 1 TB drive.
Core Specifications Remain Unchanged
The heart of the NEX395 remains the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395, part of AMD's Strix-Halo family. This APU features 16 Zen-5 cores and 32 threads, paired with an integrated Radeon 8060S GPU based on RDNA 3.5 architecture. The system includes up to 50 TOPS of NPU performance for local AI tasks, contributing to a total combined AI capability of up to 126 TOPS. AOOSTAR maintains the 140W power design and utilizes its proprietary Glacier VC cooling solution to manage this thermal load.
New Memory and Storage Configurations
The primary change involves the memory and storage subsystems. The original model shipped with 128 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM and a 2 TB SSD. The new variants reduce the soldered RAM to 64 GB and offer two storage options: no pre-installed drive or a single M.2 slot occupied by a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The price difference between these two configurations is exactly 1,000 Yuan.
Connectivity and Expansion
Beyond the internal components, the NEX395 offers robust connectivity suitable for workstation tasks. It includes two USB4 ports supporting up to 40 Gbit/s speeds, two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, HDMI, and DisplayPort outputs. Internally, the chassis provides three M.2-2280 slots compatible with PCIe 4.0 SSDs, allowing users to add additional storage if they opt for the base model without a pre-installed drive.
