AOC launches U32G5D 31.5-inch 4K 180Hz monitor with five-layer QD-OLED panel
The new AOC U32G5D features a five-layer Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel with a 180Hz refresh rate and DisplayPort 2.1 support.
AOC has introduced the U32G5D, a 31.5-inch gaming monitor featuring a 4K QD-OLED panel with a 180Hz refresh rate. The device utilizes Samsung’s Penta Tandem QD-OLED technology (EL Gen.3), which employs a five-layer OLED structure to enhance display performance.
Designed for high-performance gaming, the U32G5D offers a 3840 × 2160 (4K UHD) resolution and a 180Hz refresh rate. The QD-OLED panel delivers an ultra-fast 0.03ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time, minimizing motion blur. It covers 100% of the sRGB and 99% of the DCI-P3 color spaces, with factory calibration reportedly achieving a Delta E of less than 1 in sRGB mode.
Brightness and HDR Performance
The monitor provides 250 nits of brightness at 100% APL in SDR and reaches 450 nits at 10% APL in HDR. It is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified, highlighting its ability to produce deep blacks. To mitigate OLED burn-in risks, AOC has implemented 'OLED Care' features, including pixel refresh cycles and graphene-based heat dissipation.
Connectivity and Interface
Connectivity options include two HDMI 2.1 ports (48 Gbps) and one DisplayPort 2.1 port supporting UHBR13.5 at 54 Gbps. It is worth noting that achieving 4K at 180Hz with 10-bit RGB/4:4:4 via HDMI requires Display Stream Compression (DSC), whereas DisplayPort handles the bandwidth without this requirement. The monitor also includes a USB 3.2 Gen 1 hub with two 5Gbps downstream ports.
The U32G5D is currently listed on AOC’s Chinese website. Pricing and availability for international markets have not yet been confirmed.
