Amida Kyu Demo Available on Steam and Web Browser
A demo for Amida Kyu, a high-difficulty puzzle game based on the traditional Japanese amida-kuji mechanic, is now available on Steam and via web browsers on unityroom. While the visuals and mechanics appear simple, the game promises intense mental stimulation.
The core gameplay involves managing colored spheres—such as red and green—as they travel from left to right along lanes. Players must place vertical lines to alter the paths, ensuring that spheres reach specific destinations in a precise order. The developers note that while moving a specific color to a specific spot might seem straightforward, adding the requirement of a specific sequence significantly increases the difficulty.
As players progress, the complexity grows with various new mechanics. Beyond simple vertical shifts, the game introduces diagonal lines that send spheres backward, gates that only allow certain colors through, and portals for warping across sections. These elements transform the minimalist concept into a dense and layered puzzle experience.
For players interested in level design, the game features an edit mode. The full version is expected to support Steam Workshop, allowing users to share their custom-made stages with the global community. Pending successful build approval, the full release of Amida Kyu is scheduled for November 17, 2026.
