Alchemist Sets Record for Most Consecutive Bans in Professional Dota 2
A new record has been set in professional Dota 2 for the longest consecutive ban streak of a single hero. According to analyst Ben "Noxville" Steenhuisen, Alchemist was excluded from drafts for 103 maps in a row. This marks the longest period where one character remained unpicked in official matches.
Dragon Knight took second place, being banned in 99 consecutive matches. The hero Chen rounded out the top three, with a stretch where he was out of picks for 84 maps in a row.
The list also includes other long ban streaks. Chen has several other stretches of 78 and 46 matches. Other heroes featured include Lone Druid with 61, Naga Siren with 59, and Wisp with 58. Additionally, the statistics feature Doom, Treant Protector, Tiny, Disruptor, and Batrider.
These figures were released alongside a major update from Valve. In patch 7.41e, the developer revised hero and item balance, fixed numerous bugs, and launched the compendium for The International 2026. The update also highlighted new records emerging in the professional scene.
