Abelina is a surreal platformer through a natural afterlife from a former League of Legends animator and Resident Evil composer
A new surreal platformer titled Abelina has been announced, following a man's journey through a strange, nature-filled afterlife. The project features work from a former League of Legends animator and the composer behind Zach Cregger's Resident Evil film.
The game follows Vasily, a man who died some time ago and now finds himself in the titular Abelina. In this odd, otherworldly realm, he attempts to find happiness through activities like gardening and mask-carving, all while trying to ignore the true nature of his surroundings. Players will navigate this landscape alongside other souls, guided by a mysterious rabbit-cat creature.
Gameplay appears to focus on precise movement and exploration. Players can expect mechanics involving flight, rolling objects, and challenging jumps. The world seems to offer a sense of freedom through branching paths and expansive vistas, encouraging players to uncover the truths hidden within the environment.

The visual direction is led by Gabe Askew, whose portfolio includes CG cinematics for Valorant, League of Legends, and Love, Death + Robots. The soundtrack is being composed by Ryan Holladay, known for his work on the recent Resident Evil movie and the project Weapons.
Abelina is slated for release in 2027. It is currently available to wishlist on Steam.
