18th Presidential Cup KeG Finals Set to Open in Gyeongju on August 15
The Korea e-Sports Association confirmed that the 18th Presidential Cup KeG finals will take place on August 15–16 at the Gyeongju Indoor Gymnasium. This is a unique national amateur tournament that has been held for 20 consecutive years with government participation.
This year, the event is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, alongside the Korea e-Sports Association, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Gyeongju City, and the Gyeongju Cultural Foundation. Sponsors include SK Telecom, CD Projekt, Motta, the Korean Olympic Committee, the National Sports Promotion Corporation, the Korea Content Industry Association, and publishers Nimbly, Supercell, Nexon Korea, Riot Games, and SEGA.
Tournament Format and Participants
The finals will feature 16 regional representative teams selected during the July qualifiers, which saw over 1,300 amateur players compete. Each region fielded one Eternal Return squad (3–4 players), one Brawl Stars team (3 players), two FC Online representatives, one League of Legends roster (5 players), and specific lineups for Puyo Puyo Esports.
The first day of competition begins on August 15 at 10:00. The schedule includes quarterfinals and semifinals in Eternal Return, Brawl Stars, League of Legends, and the knockout stages for FC Online (rounds of 32 to 16) and Puyo Puyo Esports (round of 8 and consolation round).
The second day, August 16, will conclude the event with finals in Brawl Stars and League of Legends, as well as finals in Eternal Return and Puyo Puyo Esports. The FC Online final will also be held on this day.
Prize Pool and Awards
The overall winner of the 16 regional teams will receive the Presidential Cup and a diploma. Category winners will be awarded by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The total prize pool is 2.8 million won: 800k won for Eternal Return and Brawl Stars, 500k won for FC Online and League of Legends, and 200k won for Puyo Puyo Esports.
Notably, the top two finishers in the FC Online national finals will earn direct seeding to the Round of 8 at the FFL (Future Football League) main event.
