100 Thieves advance to Stake Pulse Beat III playoffs
100 Thieves have secured their spot in the Stake Pulse Beat III playoffs following a decisive victory over Liquid. While Liquid managed to fight their way back through the lower bracket, 100 Thieves proved superior in their direct encounter.
The series opened on 100 Thieves' pick, Dust2, where the American side delivered a clinical performance. They dominated the T-side with a 12-0 run, eventually closing the map 13-0. Swedish standout Alex "poiii" Nyholm Sundgren led the charge with a commanding 2.55 rating and a +12 K/D.
Liquid responded on Inferno, taking control in the first half to lead 8-4. Despite a late push from 100 Thieves, Liquid maintained their composure to take the map 13-8 and force a decider. The final map, Mirage, was a tightly contested affair. After a 6-6 split in the first half, 100 Thieves secured a crucial eco-round victory to clinch the series with a 13-9 win.
Beyond the playoff qualification, the win has significantly bolstered 100 Thieves' prospects for a Major invite. According to the HLTV VRS prediction model, their chances have jumped from 30% to 55%. 100 Thieves will continue their campaign in the single-elimination bracket this Friday, October 16th.
