007 First Light — Launch Trailer Out Now, Game Releases May 27
Three days to go: IO Interactive has dropped the final launch trailer for 007 First Light, confirming every key detail ahead of the May 27 release.
IO Interactive, the studio behind the Hitman series, has released the official launch trailer for 007 First Light — an original origin story following a young James Bond. The game launches May 27, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned for a later date.
Story and Setting
007 First Light stars Patrick Gibson as a 26-year-old James Bond, still an inexperienced MI6 recruit without his legendary license to kill. The game draws inspiration from Ian Fleming's original novels and the long-running film franchise.
Confirmed locations include the Grand Carpathian Hotel in Slovakia (during a chess tournament) and a corporate gala at a London museum in Kensington, England.
Gameplay: Three Play Styles
Players can approach each mission in three distinct ways:
- Silent — using gadgets to infiltrate undetected
- Loud — direct combat with fists or firearms
- Social — diplomacy and bluffing past guards
Missions include additional modifiers for extended replayability.
Cast and Music
Gemma Chan plays Dr. Selina Tan, an original character created by IO Interactive. Lenny Kravitz portrays antagonist Bawma. The theme song "First Light" was composed by David Arnold — the composer behind several official Bond films.
Deluxe Edition
The Deluxe Edition includes 24-hour Early Access (available May 26), along with exclusive in-game skins and outfits. ESRB rating: Teen. In-game purchases included.
