World of Warcraft: Forever — details on new gameplay mechanics
Blizzard Entertainment has released a new WoW Weekly, focusing on the upcoming World of Warcraft: Forever. The update highlights reimagined ways to experience Azeroth, including new character options and a revamped progression system.
A major highlight is the introduction of the Legacy System, an account-wide horizontal progression mechanic. This system allows players to advance by exploring various aspects of the game, ensuring that every character contributes to the overall journey of the account.

The announcement also detailed several core features for the upcoming experience:

- Skyborne Race: A new race arriving on Zephras Isle, where players will decide whether to join the Horde or the Alliance.
- Naming Structure: To accommodate a larger, realm-less Azeroth, character names will now follow a new two-name structure.
- Rulesets: Players will be able to choose the specific type of gameplay experience they want to start with.

Additionally, the first episode of the World of Warcraft: Forever Podcast has been announced, featuring senior game designer Josh "Aggrend" Greenfield, lead classic designer Tim Jones, and creators Countdown To Classic and Xaryu.

In other news, the Brewfest holiday event is running until October 6 in locations including Silvermoon City, Valdrakken, Dornogal, Ironforge, and Orgrimmar. Looking ahead to October, the Trading Post will feature the Ensemble: Thornshadow Assassin's Attire transmog set.
