WolfY: "If I don't IGL, I'm just wasting my time"
Adam "WolfY" Andersson is entering a new phase of his career. In an interview with Dust2.us, the Swedish-American veteran revealed that his primary goal is a definitive transition into the IGL role. According to him, in the current regional landscape, this is the only way to evolve professionally and take control of his own destiny.
Heading into the iBUYPOWER Masters fl0m's Mythical LAN 2026, Chicken Coop faced significant challenges after parting ways with IGL John "mds" Marin just before the event. To fill the gap, the team recruited WolfY, who has temporarily returned to AWPing to support the squad during the LAN.
Despite an opening loss to Liquid, WolfY remains optimistic. He noted that the team arrived with low expectations, having had only a couple of days of scrims. However, he believes the roster has the potential to cause trouble, particularly in their upcoming series against Wildcard.
Discussing his professional evolution, WolfY emphasized his shift from a pure AWPer to a rifling IGL. He explained that the AWP IGL role is significantly more difficult to execute effectively, and to ensure long-term career growth in Counter-Strike 2, he needs to master the leadership aspect.
Regarding his brief stint with SportsBetExpert, the player clarified that his departure was a result of needing to recalibrate his career goals after a hectic period. Despite rumors of a return to Europe, WolfY confirmed his intention to build his future in North America due to his preference for living in the US, though he remains open to potential collaborations with European organizations.
