Verse of Birth: Create cards with Dy84n or any text using AI
At Tokyo Game Show 2026, the 4Gamer booth showcased Verse of Birth, a new deck-building roguelike for PC. Developed by dentsu Game Center, the title features a unique mechanic where generative AI creates custom cards based on player input.
In Verse of Birth, players collect resources during runs to generate new cards. Using a combination of Adobe Firefly and OpenAI API, the game transforms any text entered by the player—ranging from meaningful words to random strings like Dy84n—into a unique monster called a "Logos." Each Logos is generated in real-time with its own name, appearance, stats (HP, ATK, Speed, Soul), and specific skills.
To address copyright concerns, the developers stated that the AI uses only authorized and licensed content for its training data. While the visual appearance and abilities are tied to the initial text, players have the option to rename their creatures as nicknames.
The gameplay follows the deck-building roguelike formula, featuring procedurally generated dungeons, over 50 unique events, and various random upgrades. Combat takes place on a 3x3 grid (9 positions) using turn-based auto-battles. Players must strategically position their Logos into three rows: tanks in the front, support in the middle, and attackers in the back to maximize synergy and survive enemy area-of-effect attacks.
The game is expected to include several modes, such as a high-difficulty Challenge Mode and an Endless Mode featuring continuous boss rushes. Verse of Birth is slated for release in 2026.
