Valve Releases Trove of Terror Treasure with New Arcana for Tidehunter
Valve has launched a new treasure in Dota 2 titled Trove of Terror. Priced at $5 per unit, the collection includes 15 themed item sets, a brand-new Arcana for Tidehunter, and the return of a previously released Arcana.
Maw of the Megalodon: Tidehunter's New Arcana
The standout feature of the Trove of Terror is the Maw of the Megalodon Arcana for Tidehunter. This update provides a complete overhaul, featuring a new model, unique animations, visual effects, taunts, and voice lines. A notable detail is the inclusion of a corpse that the hero carries, which Valve describes as both a "security blanket" and a snack for the character.
The Arcana also offers three distinct design variants. According to the developers, these styles can be unlocked by completing specific conditions related to the new look.
Drow Ranger's Return and Milestone Rewards
The treasure also marks the return of the Arcana for Drow Ranger. Players can now choose between its original appearance and a new, darker aesthetic.
In addition to the two Arcana and 15 themed sets (which include Immortal-level elements), Trove of Terror features a progression system for guaranteed rewards based on the number of treasures opened:
- Opening 50 treasures guarantees an Arcana;
- Opening 12 treasures rewards the player with a new Tormentor skin;
- Opening 40 treasures grants a new Roshan skin.
To secure both the Tormentor and Roshan skins, players must open at least 40 treasures. The full list of items and the specific requirements for these bonus rewards can be viewed directly within the Dota 2 game client.
