Valkyrie launches VK87 MAX V2 THOR mechanical keyboard with dual 8K polling

Valkyrie has announced the launch of its new mechanical keyboard, the VK87 MAX V2 THOR. The device will be available on JD.com starting August 18 for approximately 325 yuan (roughly $45–$50 USD).

Key updates and specifications

The keyboard is built around the Candlelight 2nd generation main controller, supporting wired, 2.4 GHz wireless, and Bluetooth connections. It offers a dual polling rate up to 8000 Hz: wired mode delivers latency under 0.1 ms, while wireless mode stays below 0.24 ms.

A 12,000 mAh battery is housed inside. The manufacturer applies its Silent Core technology: when enabled in Bluetooth mode with power-saving settings, theoretical runtime reaches up to 12,000 hours. Disabling Silent Core and using 2.4 GHz mode at 8000 Hz polling with full backlighting reduces battery life to approximately 70 hours.

The unit includes a TFT color LCD, a multi-function rotary volume knob, and RGB lighting with music sync support. Lighting covers the logo and an ARGB strip shaped like stars.

Switches are the linear Trononai Moon: initial actuation force 45±8 gf, actuation point 2.0±0.4 mm, total travel 3.6±0.4 mm, with a minimum lifespan of 50 million keystrokes.

Construction features gasket mount design, a PC cross-slot plate, and multi-layer sound dampening: PO foam, IXPE switch pads, PET acoustic pads, and EPDM bottom padding. All keys support hot-swapping.

The box includes a cable, 2-in-1 keycap puller, three extra switches, twenty-one extra transparent keycaps, a dust cover, and warranty documentation. The warranty period is one year.
