Twitch Adds Opt-Out for AI Training Using Stream Content
Twitch, owned by Amazon, has introduced a new privacy setting allowing users to opt out of having their content used to train generative AI models. Previously, this option was unavailable, and Amazon utilized stream data, chats, and images to improve its neural networks.
How It Works
Under the account settings in the "Privacy" section, a new toggle labeled "Training for generative AI" is now available. By default, it is enabled, but users can disable it. When active, Twitch uses channel content (audio, video, chat text) to improve speech recognition, translation, and other natural language processing tasks.
Crucially, opting out does not stop all AI features on the platform. Tools like automatic caption generation or monetization recommendations continue to function regardless of this setting.
