TRYX launches USB 2.0 pin header hub to solve PC case port shortages

TRYX has launched the A-C000H-USB2-G0K, a USB 2.0 pin header hub designed to solve port scarcity inside PC cases. Priced around 3,800 yen (approx. $25 USD), this accessory connects directly to motherboard headers rather than relying on limited rear I/O ports.

Dual Controller Architecture for Bandwidth

The A-C000H-USB2-G0K features a dual controller design, offering two independent physical bandwidths of 480Mbps each. While USB 2.0 is inherently limited by its protocol speed, this architecture ensures that the four downstream ports do not compete for a single shared bus bottleneck, theoretically improving aggregate throughput stability when connecting multiple devices simultaneously.

Power Delivery and Capacity

A key differentiator is the inclusion of a SATA power input. This auxiliary power source allows the hub to handle up to 4A of load. TRYX states this capacity supports either four display-connected devices or up to eight downstream USB peripherals at once, addressing the common issue where hubs powered solely by data lines fail under heavy load.

Installation and Compatibility

The unit measures 100×22.6×22.6mm and features built-in magnets for flexible placement inside a chassis. It connects via a USB Type-C host port, supplied with a dedicated cable converting the standard USB 2.0 9-pin + SATA power headers to Type-C. This makes it compatible with most modern motherboards that expose these specific headers.

Availability

The product is available for purchase on Amazon and Rakuten in Japan under the CONNEC series from TRYX. While marketed as a solution for internal connectivity, users should verify their motherboard's header layout before installation to ensure proper pin alignment.
