SunPayus joins FUT as cmtry heads to the bench
FUT has officially signed Álvaro "SunPayus" García from G2. The Spaniard takes over the AWP role, while Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov moves to the bench. This marks the first roster change for the core originally acquired from the Natus Vincere academy.
SunPayus has been without active competition since the Cologne Major, following his benching by G2 to accommodate r1nkle from Ninjas in Pyjamas. At 27, he joins a lineup of much younger players, including dem0n, Krabeni, dziugss, and xfl0ud. While his arrival provides the squad with veteran leadership and a second voice during decisive rounds, the move involves a tactical trade-off, as cmtry offered more impact on the rifle side than a dedicated AWPer.
The departure of cmtry marks the end of a significant journey. After progressing through NAVI Youth and NAVI Junior, he reached his peak in April 2026, earning an MVP award at PGL Bucharest. However, a recent dip in form led the organization to prioritize a tactical shift over roster continuity. cmtry will now join lauNX on the bench, with coolio remaining as head coach.
SunPayus has approximately three weeks to integrate into the team before PGL Masters Bucharest begins on October 24. His debut in FUT colors will take place in the same city where cmtry achieved his career-defining victory.
