SteamOS on a regular PC: why the idea is becoming practical
On June 28, SteamOS looks practical again: the question is no longer whether Linux can run games, but how comfortable it can be on a regular gaming PC.
Why now
Steam Deck proved that a Linux-oriented gaming interface can make sense for mainstream players. The next question is whether the same approach can work on a desktop PC near the TV.
Based on Valve and Steam materials, SteamOS is valuable because it simplifies the session: turn on the machine, choose a game and continue with a controller.
