Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Year Two: Duel Mode, new characters, and retro-inspired vehicles
Sega has officially kicked off Year Two for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. The update expands the game's universe with new racers, tracks, and mechanics, headlined by a new competitive mode and a nostalgic vehicle pack inspired by Sega's iconic consoles.
The development team has revealed that the core focus for Year Two is expanding player expression and strategic depth. A key addition is Duel Mode, designed for one-on-one competition. Unlike the standard 12-player races, this mode emphasizes tactical positioning and precise item usage to outmaneuver a single opponent.

To further customize the gameplay experience, the team introduced the Super Slot. This dedicated slot allows players to equip one specific Gadget with enhanced effects, opening up new strategic combinations and playstyles through the game's customization system.

The Sega Consoles Pack: Nostalgia on Wheels
Confirming what many fans suspected after an April Fool's joke, the Sega Consoles Pack is officially arriving. This set features three vehicles inspired by classic Sega hardware, available as part of the Digital Deluxe Edition and Season Pass Two.

The design of these vehicles translates the identity of the hardware into racing machines. The Dreamcast features rounded forms and its signature color scheme, while the Genesis and Sega Saturn utilize angular silhouettes. The developers focused on integrating these iconic elements—such as button layouts and color palettes—into the car bodies without obstructing the characters' visibility or the gameplay flow.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available on PlayStation 5. The Standard Edition is priced at $39.99, while the Digital Deluxe Edition and Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition are available for $59.99.
