SilverStone Unveils ALTA T2: A Heavy-Duty Case for Workstations
SilverStone has begun taking orders for the ALTA T2 (model SST-ALT2B), a new chassis specifically designed for high-end workstations. The case features a robust aluminum frame with a thickness ranging from 3 to 8 mm, emphasizing durability and structural rigidity.
Design and Expansion Capabilities
The ALTA T2 is built to accommodate demanding hardware. It supports a wide range of motherboard form factors, including XL-ATX, SSI-EEB, SSI-CEB, and Extended ATX. For thermal management, the chassis can house up to three 420 mm radiators.
To support high-power or redundant power requirements, the case supports dual power supply configurations. Users can utilize a primary ATX or 2U CRPS (Common Redundant Power Supply) along with a secondary ATX unit. This flexibility is ideal for building redundant workstation systems or high-wattage builds.
Technical Specifications and Dimensions
The chassis measures 260 mm in width, 732 mm in height, and 660 mm in depth. Storage capacity is extensive, offering three external 5.25-inch bays and internal support for up to twelve 3.5/2.5-inch drives, plus three additional 2.5-inch slots.
