Silent Hill f Wins Grand Prize at Japan Horror Game Awards 2026
Silent Hill f has been named the winner of the Grand Prize at the Japan Horror Game Awards 2026. The ceremony was held as part of the Tokyo Horror Tokku!! 2026 festival, which concluded on September 13 at Prism Hall in Tokyo Dome City.
Organized by the brand Hyakushitsu, the awards saw Silent Hill f secure a double victory, winning both the Grand Prize and the award for Best Psychological Horror. Series producer Motoi Okamoto attended the event and discussed the game's unique visual direction, explaining how the developers aim to blend beauty with terror—creating imagery that appears as delicate flowers up close but resembles visceral organs from a distance.
Other notable winners announced during the ceremony included:
- Cronos: The New Dawn, which received THE HORROR GAME AWARDS special prize;
- Dread Flats, winner of the Gatchman Award;
- Jiko Bukken Kanteishi Shiken, which took home the Hyakushitsu Award;
- Dyping Escape, recipient of the Famitsu Bunko Award.
The event also highlighted REANIMAL, which won for horror narrative and direction, and Night Watch (Yoru Mashi no Niwa), a title from the creators of the Yume Nikki series. At the Hyakushitsu booth, fans could view exhibits related to the Fatal Frame (Zero) franchise, including the iconic Camera Obscura.
The opening ceremony featured a performance by the dance group O-MENZ and included appearances by high-profile guests such as director Joe Dante and actress Linda Hamilton.
