WitchSpring action RPG Shade of the Marionette: The Story of Piyorita announced

Developer Kiwi Walks, the studio behind the WitchSpring series, has officially announced Shade of the Marionette: The Story of Piyorita. This story-driven 3D action RPG expands upon the established world of WitchSpring, focusing on a new protagonist named Piyorita.

The narrative follows a "little bird"—a doll named Piyorita. Born as a blank doll devoid of emotion and memory, she awakens in the "White Nest" guided by a familiar voice. To become the "Masterpiece," Piyorita must explore hidden rooms beyond the mirror, absorbing the life force of other dolls. However, other "Failures" view her with jealousy and hostility, competing to achieve the same goal.

The gameplay features a blend of fast-paced combat and an intricate crafting system. Key elements include:

  • Combat: Stylish 3D action featuring swordplay, magic, and targeting assistance. The system allows for unlimited dashes and utilizes cover, elevation, and movement routes for tactical advantages.
  • Doll Collection: Defeated bosses can be turned into "Dolls" that the player can command. These allies can be upgraded using materials gathered in the field.
  • Crafting and Preparation: In the "White Nest," players can combine weapons, traps, and spells, and manage character costumes.

A core mechanic involves non-linear progression: the order in which players unlock rooms beyond the mirror will change the scenes witnessed and how the story unfolds. Shade of the Marionette: The Story of Piyorita is scheduled for a 2027 release on PC via Steam, as well as on unspecified PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles.
