Samsung unveils world's first 300Hz OLED laptop display

Samsung Display has unveiled the world’s first 300Hz OLED panel designed specifically for laptops, marking a significant leap beyond the long-standing 240Hz ceiling that has defined mobile displays.

The new 16-inch 2.5K OLED panel targets high-end gaming notebooks and features a standard 16:9 aspect ratio. While Samsung did not disclose specific peak brightness figures, the display is expected to deliver native infinite contrast, perfect blacks, pixel-level backlight control, and HDR support inherent to OLED technology.

Beyond mobile screens, Samsung also showcased two QD-OLED monitor panels operating at 360Hz: a 31.5-inch 4K model and a 34-inch 21:9 ultrawide panel. Additionally, the company revealed several futuristic display concepts, including a 7.6-inch foldable OLED with wide viewing angles and an AI OLED pendant necklace.

Samsung has not confirmed a specific release date for these panels, as it typically takes time to move from exhibition prototypes to retail availability. However, initial devices utilizing this technology are expected to appear in the flagship gaming segment, likely adopted by major brands such as ASUS, Lenovo, and Razer.
