Ryan overcomes 8k gold deficit to reach Worlds 2026 Quarterfinals
Ryan secured their first-ever Worlds quarterfinal spot by overcoming a massive gold deficit to defeat Los in the Swiss Stage.
Ryan has advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2026 League of Legends World Championship after a dramatic comeback victory over Brazil's CBLoL seed, Los. The win marks the first time in the organization's history that they have reached the top eight.
The deciding Swiss Stage Match 5 took place at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. Los took the opening game after securing a Baron buff at the 34-minute mark, leveraging objective control to dismantle Ryan's base.
The second game saw Los build a significant 7,000 gold lead, driven by Zest's Ambessa outplaying Docla's Nunu. However, Ryan mounted a massive comeback at the 40-minute mark. Following a decisive Elder Dragon fight where Berserker's Yunala secured two kills, Ryan seized control and leveled the series by destroying the nexus at 46 minutes.
In the final game, Ryan established early dominance with solo kills and successful ganks from Inspired on Nocturne. Despite Los attempting to stabilize the mid lane, Ryan secured a decisive teamfight near the Baron pit, sealing the series and their historic advancement to the quarterfinals.
