Riot Games Won't Restore Lost RR to Players After VALORANT Outage
Riot Games will not restore the ranked points (RR) lost by VALORANT players following the massive outage on August 13. Instead of returning RR, the company awarded all affected accounts with 4,000 Battle Pass XP and 100 Kingdom Credits.
Technical impossibility of restoration
In a support response, Riot Games explained that the ranking system is fully automated. Due to the sheer volume of affected accounts, restoring lost RR was deemed technically impossible.
During the incident, players were kicked out of ongoing matches, and re-entry via the Riot Client was unavailable. Issues were observed across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and several other regions. Some users experienced RR loss from completed matches, but Riot Games will not compensate for the ranked points.
Restrictions lifted on accounts
The company also removed restrictions that remained active on accounts after the outage. This likely refers to penalties for prematurely leaving matches when users were forcibly disconnected from servers.
