Riot Games Reveals Anti-Boosting System Principles in VALORANT

Riot Games has unveiled the operational principles of the Vanguard Anti-Boost system for VALORANT. The system is designed to detect rank boosting where high-skill players use other people's accounts. For these violations, the company removes undeservedly gained points and bans accounts; in cases of systematic boosting, sanctions may also affect the booster's main profile.

Penalties apply to players who share accounts with boosters, pay for joint play on smurf accounts, provide high-skill friends with low-ranked profiles, or intentionally lower their rank. Purchasing or borrowing an account to record highlight moments is also considered a violation. Players who regularly rank up in groups with boosters may lose earned points, even if they were unaware of the violation.

However, using additional accounts that players have created and leveled up themselves without sharing them with others is not prohibited. Riot Games recommends leveling up such profiles to your actual skill level before playing with friends; otherwise, the achieved rank may be removed.

Looking ahead, the company plans to strengthen checks through multi-factor authentication and TPM 2.0 requirements. The specific timelines and ranks at which these additional restrictions will apply have not yet been announced.
