Midnight Black PS5 Digital Edition Pre-orders Open in Japan
Pre-orders for the new Midnight Black colorway of the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition are now available at retailers and e-commerce sites across Japan.
The new console is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, with a retail price of 55,000 yen (including tax). This specific model is a digital-only version without an integrated disc drive and features an 825GB internal SSD.
The hardware is restricted to the Japanese market. To use the console, players must have a PlayStation account set to the Japan region with the system language configured to Japanese.
To expand the console's capabilities, Sony is also offering a matching Disk Drive Midnight Black for 11,980 yen. This accessory allows digital edition owners to play physical game discs.
Additionally, the Midnight Black Digital Edition is included in a warranty promotion. Customers who purchase the console before March 31, 2027, will receive an extended one-year manufacturer's warranty, totaling two years of coverage.
