Portal Pod and shared storage in Pokémon Pokopia explained
The Portal Pod is a new shared storage feature added to Pokémon Pokopia as part of its 2.0.0 patch. It does not matter where you place your Portal Pods, because each one will share the same storage, allowing you access to the 80 items it can hold. How to get a Portal Pod in Pokopia
If you want a Portal Pod, you first need to ensure you've downloaded the version 2.0.0 patch for Pokopia. After this, you need to ensure Palette Town is at Environment Level 8 to unlock the Portal Pod recipe and spend 3,000 Life Coins to unlock it.
To make one Portal Pod, you need:
- 10 Pokémetal
- 1 Rare Pokémetal
If you're in need of Pokémetal, then you can find its ore quite easily in both the Sparkling Skylands and the Dragonite Doll Dream Island. Just remember to place it in a Furnace and have a Burn Pokémon do the smelting for you.
How to use a Portal Pod in Pokopia
Once you've made a Portal Pod, all you have to do is place it anywhere in any of the Pokopia areas and pop some items inside. Said items will now be accessible from any of the other Portal Pods you've placed anywhere in Pokopia. This means you can place a Portal Pod near your Furnace setup in, say, Rocky Ridges, fill it with metal bars and be able to access these bars in Bleak Beach.
You can even pick up a Portal Pod and carry it around before dropping it back on the map without losing any of the items contained inside. Personally I prefer this method of using the Portal Pod as it essentially turns it into an extension for your inventory and cuts down on the amount of Pokémetal you spend making it.
