Path of Exile 2: Forbidden Rites FAQ and Patch 0.5.5 Details
Last week, Grinding Gear Games announced Forbidden Rites, a new event league for Path of Exile 2 launching alongside the 0.5.5 patch on September 4th PDT. In this update, Valve Corporation and GGG addressed common community questions regarding the event's mechanics, availability, and integration with existing content.
Is Duelist in 0.5.5? No. The Duelist class will not be available until December 11th when Path of Exile 2 fully launches at version 1.0.
New League Details: Forbidden Rites is a fresh league featuring a new economy and exclusive challenges with unique rewards. It runs until the full 1.0 release, ending alongside the Runes of Aldur league.
Start Time & Maintenance: The event begins at 1 PM PDT on September 4th. Valve will post the exact maintenance window later this week before deploying the patch. Once servers are back up, players can join Forbidden Rites.
How to Join: Simply select Forbidden Rites on the character selection screen and create a new character there.
Private Leagues: Private League support is available starting tomorrow (August 31 PDT). Note that while you can create them now, they will not be playable until the Forbidden Rites launch on September 4th.
Existing Content & Runes of Aldur: Unfinished challenges in the current Runes of Aldur league remain valid and can be completed until the 1.0 full release. Additionally, improvements like the Trial of Chaos changes apply to the entire game regardless of the league selected.
Patch Notes & Filters: Detailed patch notes and item filter information will be released later this week via official announcements.
