Paper Rex and NRG Advance to VALORANT Champions 2026 Playoffs
Another day of the group stage at VALORANT Champions 2026 has concluded. Following decisive victories in groups C and D, Paper Rex and NRG have become the first teams to secure their spots in the tournament playoffs.
In the day's opening match, Paper Rex defeated G2 Esports 2-1. This marked the second win for the Asia-Pacific representatives in the group stage, allowing them to claim the top spot in group C. Jinggg stood out for Paper Rex, earning MVP honors with a +13 K/D. Following the loss, G2 Esports holds a 1-1 record with three points, remaining in contention for second place. Meanwhile, Team Liquid and TYLOO have played one match each and have yet to score points.
In group D, NRG also secured their second consecutive victory, overcoming Karmine Corp 2-1 to take first place in their quartet. mada was the standout performer for NRG, earning the MVP title. Karmine Corp moves to a 1-1 record with three points, while Nongshim RedForce and XLG Esports remain without points after their single played matches.
With 2-0 records and six points each, both Paper Rex and NRG have officially advanced to the playoffs, regardless of the outcomes of the remaining group matches. The other participants in these groups will continue to compete for the final qualifying spots for the next stage of the tournament.
