Palworld 1.0: Returning Player Checklist
After 1.0, the key is not to rush into breaking an old world or blindly carrying early access habits forward.
Start With Saves
Before launching 1.0 with an old world, back up your save. That is basic caution for any major release after early access: even without a specific warning, your base and progress are worth a few minutes.
Do not delete old files until you have tested the world. Check your base, Pals, items, fast travel, and server settings.
Mods and Third-Party Settings
If you used mods, disable them for the first launch. Version 1.0 may change files, balance, or UI, and mods often lag behind major updates.
Re-enable mods one by one. That makes it easier to identify which one breaks launch or causes strange behavior.
Check Your Base and Production
Do not run straight into new content. Inspect your base, Pal routes, containers, production, and defense. If 1.0 changes balance or behavior, the base is usually where you notice first.
Run a short test loop: gather, craft, move resources, watch Pals work, pass a night cycle, exit, and return.
Pals and Progress
Check key Pals, their roles, and equipment. Do not rebuild the team before reading the changelog: first understand what actually changed in 1.0.
That calm approach saves time and prevents false conclusions.
- Back up saves.
- Disable mods.
- Check your base.
- Read the changelog before rebuilding your team.
