ONE-NETBOOK CEO Interview: The Future of ONEXPLAYER and Market Challenges
At Tokyo Game Show 2026, ONE-NETBOOK showcased its ONEXPLAYER handheld gaming PC lineup. In an interview with 4Gamer, CEO Jack Wang addressed how increased competition from major PC manufacturers and rising memory and SSD prices are shaping the company's business strategy.
The highlight of the exhibition was the OneXPlayer 3, an 8.8-inch OLED handheld featuring detachable controllers and a keyboard cover. A key technical highlight is the integration of the Intel Arc G3 Extreme SoC, which the company claims offers superior graphics performance compared to the Ryzen-based devices that have traditionally dominated the handheld market.

The 2026 lineup also includes the OneXPlayer X2 Mini, which shares the same Intel SoC but offers a lighter chassis, and the OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro, powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 388. For enthusiasts seeking maximum power, the OneXFly APEX is available, utilizing the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and supporting an optional external liquid cooling unit.

During the discussion, Jack Wang addressed the impact of external market pressures. While acknowledging the rising costs of components like memory and storage, he stated that the company has not faced extreme negative impacts on sales. Instead, Wang emphasized that differentiation through unique hardware features, such as advanced haptic feedback, allows the brand to remain competitive against larger manufacturers.

Takuro Yamada from the Japanese distributor Tenku added that despite higher price points for new technology, demand remains strong. He noted that the OneXPlayer 3 achieved significant success in US crowdfunding, raising approximately 540 million yen, proving that users are willing to pay for high-performance, specialized handhelds. Looking ahead, the company aims to focus on increasing performance, reducing device size, and integrating AI-driven features into future products.
