Nvidia acquires Hugging Face for $12.9bn

According to reports from BBC News, Nvidia will pay about $11.9 billion to Hugging Face investors. The company may also offer up to $1 billion in stock-based incentives to retain key personnel. Other notable investors in the open-source AI platform include Amazon, AMD, and Intel.

Jensen Huang, president and CEO of Nvidia, addressed the strategic rationale for the acquisition in a blog post.
