NRG Ethan on the team's strength: "What makes us really good is our teamwork and our trust in each other"
Following NRG's 2-0 victory over T1 in the VALORANT Champions 2026 playoffs, in-game leader Ethan "Ethan" Arnold highlighted teamwork and mutual trust as the team's core strengths. In a post-match interview, he discussed their preparation, his leadership role, and their pursuit of another trophy.
Regarding the preparation for the matchup against T1, Ethan explained that the team focused on their own play rather than the opponent. He emphasized that delivering a strong performance in the playoffs requires high-quality team play.
Addressing descriptions of NRG as an all-star roster, Ethan offered a different perspective. While acknowledging that every player on the team has the potential to be a superstar, he maintained that it is their teamwork and trust in one another that truly defines their strength.
Ethan also touched upon his responsibilities as the in-game leader, noting that the trust from his teammates makes his job significantly easier. Looking ahead, he expressed high confidence in the team's ability to secure a third trophy, citing their strong 2-0 start in the playoffs as a positive sign.
The victory over T1 advances NRG to the upper bracket semifinals, while T1 moves to the lower bracket. VALORANT Champions 2026 features a $2.25 million prize pool and will conclude on October 18.
