Mortal Shell II lets you lower difficulty with executions or up it by turning off the sun
While Mortal Shell II does not feature traditional difficulty modes, developers at studio Cold Symmetry have included a set of special items that let you adjust the game's challenge to your liking.
Heal on executions or play in the dark
One of the key additions is the ability to regain Resolve and Health by executing enemies. To do this, you need to find the Slayer Seal. As explained by the developers, it allows you to refill your resources with powerful riposte attacks, effectively making your character behave like the Doom Slayer from Doom (2016): the more you melee execute enemies, the fuller your health bar becomes.
However, there is a cost: using the Slayer Seal prevents you from earning achievements. The developers compare this to being unable to save daily rides on Strava for those with fancy rear cassettes.
