Monster Hunter Now update allows gameplay while moving on trains
Niantic has released a new update for Monster Hunter Now, allowing players to continue hunting while moving on trains.
The official update, rolled out today (August 24, 2026), introduces a specific gameplay mode for train travel. Previously, the game would pause or restrict actions during high-speed transit. Now, if the app detects that a player is on a train and confirms they are a passenger, the game allows them to continue playing without interruption.
This change significantly improves the experience for commuters and students who use public transport daily. Players can now hunt monsters during their commute or travel time, making better use of otherwise idle moments. The update is expected to be fully available within the day across both iOS and Android platforms.
Developed by Niantic in collaboration with Capcom, Monster Hunter Now remains a free-to-play title with optional in-app purchases. The update aims to enhance accessibility for players who frequently travel, ensuring they can enjoy the game regardless of their location.
