Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Bandai Namco Forge Digitals have officially announced Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 3. The next entry in the free-to-play team combat series is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC (via Steam).

The game will feature cross-play between platforms and will support English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. A specific release date has not yet been announced.

The launch lineup will feature titles from the Universal Century, including Mobile Suit Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team, and Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. Alternative series like Mobile Suit Gundam SEED will also be included, with plans to add two to three more series from alternative timelines within the first year of release.

Gameplay in Battle Operation 3 centers on tactical online team combat in large-scale battles. Beyond piloting mobile suits, players can engage in infantry operations, exiting their cockpits to plant base bombs, request fire support, and secure key battlefield objectives on foot. A central hub, Base Camp, will serve as a social space for mercenaries to connect between missions.

A Japan-only cross-play network test is scheduled for November 20 and 22, running during three specific time slots each day. Bandai Namco also intends to host a broader open network test for a wider player base in the future.
