Ministry of Truth: False Memory Launches on Steam as a Distopian Simulator from Ukrainian Studio
Publisher Two Cakes Studio and developer False Memory Dept. have released the dystopian simulator Ministry of Truth: False Memory on Steam. The game is currently available for $6.33 during a launch sale.
The Steam platform has launched a new project from Ukrainian independent studio False Memory Dept.. This is the dystopian simulator Ministry of Truth: False Memory, where players take on the role of an employee in a totalitarian information control agency. The game is currently available for purchase at 30% off, priced at $6.33 (originally $9.05) until September 3rd.
A Game About Manipulating History and Truth
The story takes place in a society where emotions have no place and any doubt is considered dangerous. The player is appointed as an employee of the "Ministry of Truth" (真理省) and receives the task of rewriting history, controlling information, and providing the public with the official version of events determined by the party.

Depending on whether the hero follows the system or attempts to resist it, the story branches into six different endings. Every decision affects the plot: can you change events, forge records, and decide what the masses will believe.
Mechanics and Content
To perform tasks as an employee of the "Ministry of Truth," the game features more than 20 unique mini-games. The narrative is presented through more than 10 animated comics, which reveal the consequences of each player choice.

Developers note that the main gameplay time exceeds two hours. During this period, players engage with themes of politics, morality, censorship, and the struggle for power. The game also includes rituals of a totalitarian regime, such as "Five Minutes of Anger", where one must demonstrate collective fury on screen.

Studio False Memory Dept. was founded by four Ukrainian developers. The project was born during Global Game Jam 2025 and the "Ctrl+Alt+Disinfo" contest, where the team made it to the top 8 finalists out of 175 works. The publisher is Two Cakes Studio.

The game includes collector materials: comics, wallpapers, soundtrack, and a PDF journal in English or Ukrainian (Supporter Pack). Supported languages include Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Korean, and others.
