Meg’s Monster is coming to PS5 on March 1, 2027
Odencat has officially announced that Meg’s Monster, the story-driven RPG with a unique emotional twist, is heading to PlayStation 5. The release is scheduled for March 1, 2027, and will include all previously released downloadable content.
The announcement confirms that the PlayStation 5 version of Meg’s Monster will arrive on March 1, 2027. This marks the latest platform expansion for the title, which originally debuted on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on March 2, 2023. Following its initial release, the game also expanded to mobile platforms (iOS and Android) in May 2026.
Players looking to experience the full story on Nintendo Switch won't have to wait until 2027. Odencat is releasing the Meg’s Monster Complete Edition on November 19, which bundles the base game with the "Lost Memories" DLC. While the Switch version gets this bundle later this year, the PlayStation 5 release in 2027 will also feature the base game alongside the "Lost Memories" content.
A JRPG with a high-stakes twist
Meg’s Monster is a short, story-driven JRPG set in the Underworld—a land inhabited by monsters and mutants. The narrative follows Roy, a hulking ogre who has no interest in the local custom of eating humans. His life changes when he and his friend Golan encounter Meg, a lost little girl whose tears possess the terrifying power to trigger an apocalypse.
The gameplay revolves around a core tension: while Roy is virtually invincible with a massive 99,999 HP, the real challenge is keeping Meg calm. If she starts crying, it results in an immediate game over. Players must navigate unique battle mechanics and mini-games, using Meg's favorite toys to keep her pacified while searching for her mother to prevent the end of the world.
Visually, the game utilizes Odencat’s signature vibrant pixel art style, giving even the most intimidating monsters a charming aesthetic. Beyond the main quest, the journey through the Underworld features quirky characters and optional sub-events that allow players to befriend previously defeated enemies, adding depth to the emotional journey of Roy and Meg.
