LEGO PlayStation Set: First Look

PlayStation and the LEGO Group have officially announced a collaboration that brings the original PlayStation console to life in brick form. The new LEGO PlayStation set, revealed during today's State of Play, offers fans a detailed 1:1 scale replica of the iconic hardware, celebrating over three decades of gaming history.

The announcement marks the first time players and LEGO enthusiasts can build a physical model of the original PlayStation console and its controller. The set contains 1,911 pieces and measures 10.5 inches (26 cm) wide when fully assembled. This near 1:1 scale representation is designed to capture the specific aesthetic and proportions of the 1994 hardware that defined a generation of gaming.

Working closely with LEGO designers, Sony Interactive Entertainment crafted a building experience that incorporates hidden details from PlayStation's history. The set features references to two iconic titles that launched on the original console: Ape Escape and Gran Turismo. Each game is represented by a customizable diorama. The Gran Turismo section includes a miniature track with scaled-down cars, while the Ape Escape diorama features a nostalgic island scene with a monkey helmet that has a swappable blue or red light.

Functionality is a key component of the design. The interactive set includes working mechanisms for the console's Power and Open buttons. The LEGO controller can be plugged into the console, and both game dioramas are removable, allowing them to be displayed separately as standalone pieces. These details aim to provide a tactile connection to the original user experience.

The LEGO PlayStation will be available for purchase starting October 1, 2026. It will be sold directly through PlayStation's online store in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. LEGO Insiders will have early access to the set on October 1, 2026, while general availability on LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores begins on October 4, 2026.

The recommended retail price is set at $179.99 USD, €159.99 EUR, £139.99 GBP, and ¥27,980 JPY (including tax). This release serves as a tangible tribute to the community and the shared experiences that have defined the PlayStation brand since its inception in 1994.
