LCK remain undefeated in R1 and advance to R2 at Demacia Cup
At the 2026 Demacia Cup Global Invitational (DCGI), which kicked off on October 3, all LCK teams—KT Rolster, BNK FearX, and HANJIN BRION—secured victories in R1 to advance to the R2 Winners' Bracket.
Tournament favorites KT Rolster faced Shopify Rebellion in a match that remained relatively quiet until Lee "PerfecT" Shin secured a solo kill on K'Sante. This play shifted the momentum, allowing PerfecT to dominate mid-lane skirmishes and a Rift Herald teamfight. Leveraging the pressure from PerfecT and Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong on Ryze, KT Rolster secured a comfortable victory.
BNK FearX took on Team Vitality in a matchup where they held the draft advantage. While Team Vitality attempted to fight back through fast-rotation plays and objective contests, BNK FearX maintained control through effective side-lane play. A decisive counter-attack occurred when Team Vitality attempted to secure the Baron after picking off Kim "Kellin" Hyeong-gyu on Bard, allowing BNK FearX to close out the game with the buff.
HANJIN BRION pulled off a remarkable comeback against JD Gaming. Despite JD Gaming utilizing global ultimates from Pantheon and Twisted Fate to control the map, HANJIN BRION stayed in the game by stacking two early Dragons. They eventually turned the tide during the fifth Dragon teamfight to secure the win.
Following the draw, the R2 Winners' Bracket matchups are set: KT Rolster will face RED Canids Kalunga, HANJIN BRION will meet Team WE, and BNK FearX will clash with LGD Gaming. In the Losers' Bracket, Natus Vincere will face FlyQuest, GAM Esports will play Team Vitality, and Shopify Rebellion will take on JD Gaming.
The R2 Winners' Bracket begins on October 4 at 4:00 PM KST. Teams that achieve two wins will advance to the Knockout Stage, while the losers will move to R3. The R2 Losers' Bracket is scheduled for October 5 at 4:00 PM KST.
