iG Advance to Worlds Semifinals: Ziqi Emphasizes Mental Discipline
Invictus Gaming (iG) have secured a spot in the League of Legends World Championship semifinals after defeating TES in an LPL derby. Following the series win, Ziqi emphasized that maintaining mental composure will be critical for their upcoming challenge.
iG closed out the quarterfinal series 3:1 against TES at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. This victory advances them to the semifinals, where they will face either Gen.G Esports or the winner of the other LPL matchup.
During the post-match interview, Ziqi shared that while the LPL-only matchup felt surreal, the team was well-prepared. He noted that iG focused heavily on their drafting and macro play specifically to counter TES.
Looking ahead, Ziqi stressed the importance of mental management. He stated that the team intends to stick to their established playstyle regardless of their opponent. "We just need to play the way we have been playing. No matter who we face in the semifinals, we will give it our all," Ziqi said.
