Horror-ADV «Mermade»: Steam Page Opened, Demo Available on itch.io
Independent development team The Mermakers has launched the Steam store page for their new title, Mermade. This is a survival horror adventure game where the protagonist is a woman who has been surgically modified into a mermaid-like creature. The story takes place in an abandoned aquarium that now functions as a dangerous experimental facility.
The main character has lost both legs and had a fish tail sewn onto her body instead. Her childhood dream of becoming a mermaid has come true in a cruel reality. Players must navigate through the hazardous environment of the facility, uncovering various threats while trying to find a way to escape.
Beyond the protagonist, there are other "failed experiments" created through human trials. As the story progresses, players will uncover the truth behind the experiments and what exactly happened to the main character.
A distinctive feature of Mermade is the difference in movement capabilities on land versus underwater. The protagonist cannot walk normally on land and must drag herself along the floor, whereas she can swim freely underwater and dive. This mechanic requires players to carefully assess the terrain while exploring.
The release date for Mermade is currently undetermined, and the game supports only English at this time. A demo version is available on itch.io for those interested in checking it out.
