Heartworm coming to PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch on October 1
Retro-inspired survival horror Heartworm is coming to consoles on October 1. Publisher DreadXP and developer Vincent Adinolfi announced that the title will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Switch 2, and Switch. The game is currently available on PC via Steam.
Heartworm is a psychologically-focused narrative described as a love letter to late 90s genre staples like Silent Hill and Resident Evil. The story follows Sam, who, while searching for a way to reunite with her deceased grandfather, follows an internet rabbit hole to a supposedly supernatural house in the mountains.
The gameplay features a mix of fixed camera angles and over-the-shoulder perspectives. Players will navigate atmospheric environments, solve classic puzzles, and engage in limited combat using a camera as a weapon. The game offers four to six hours of gameplay with multiple endings. To enhance the retro aesthetic, players can enable optional pixelation and retro effects reminiscent of the first 3D console era.
