Great Wall launches 230W PSU with protection against bugs and dust
Great Wall has launched a new 230W desktop power supply in the Chinese market. This unit targets a specific niche of systems that require significantly less power than modern gaming rigs, focusing instead on reliability in demanding environments.
While high-end gaming PCs typically demand 750W or 850W power supplies, this Great Wall model is built for much lighter workloads. A 230W capacity is sufficient for office desktops, point-of-sale (POS) systems, industrial PCs, and storage solutions that rely on integrated graphics and low-TDP processors (such as 35W CPUs). Although many modern mini-PCs can run on compact USB-C GaN chargers, this conventional ATX unit offers the benefit of active cooling for sustained reliability.
The most distinctive feature of this PSU is its internal construction. The manufacturer has applied a protective coating to the PCB, which is advertised to provide protection against insects, moisture, and dust. This specialized coating makes the unit suitable for use in workshops, warehouses, or office environments where air quality or environmental conditions might be less controlled than in a typical home setup.
In terms of safety, the unit includes standard protections against over-voltage, over-current, over-power, and short circuits. It is also rated for operation at altitudes of up to 5,000 meters. The PSU comes with fixed, color-coded cables but does not include a power cord. The unit is priced at approximately $22 and is backed by a three-year warranty.
