GOBBLE coming west in 2027
Publisher NIS America has announced that the hand-painted 2D platforming adventure GOBBLE, developed by Nippon Ichi Software, will be released in the West. The title is set to arrive on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in 2027.
The game is scheduled for its initial release in Japan on September 24 of this year. The Western launch will follow in 2027, though a specific date has not yet been disclosed.
According to the publisher's overview, GOBBLE features a hand-painted world where players explore alongside Scythariel, a demonic bird capable of transforming into a scythe. This companion can cut down enemies and consume their corpses to fuel unique abilities.
Key mechanics include consuming foes for extra health to unlock super-powered abilities, collecting hidden items on every stage, and experiencing a living world where sound effects react dynamically to the environment.
