GMKtec has launched the NucBox M5S mini PC, now available in Japan through Links International. This compact system is powered by an AMD mobile processor, targeting users looking for efficient desktop performance for daily tasks.
Specifications and Expandability
The NucBox M5S is built around the 4-core, 8-thread AMD Ryzen 3 5400U, featuring a base clock of 2.6 GHz and a boost frequency of up to 4 GHz. The out-of-the-box configuration includes 16GB of "DDR4-3200" SO-DIMM memory and a 512GB M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD. Users can expand the system by adding a second memory module (up to 32GB total) and a second storage drive (NVMe or SATA) with capacities up to 8TB.
A standout feature is the triple-display support via DisplayPort 1.4 (up to 8K @ 60Hz), HDMI 2.0 (up to 4K @ 60Hz), and a USB Type-C port that supports 4K video and 100W Power Delivery.
Connectivity and Thermal Design
Measuring 128.8 × 127 × 47.8 mm and weighing approximately 528g, the unit utilizes copper heat pipes and a dual-fan cooling solution to manage thermals. For networking, it provides dual 2.5G LAN ports, alongside Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity.
