Gen.G Esports to Face LYON for a Spot in the Worlds 2026 Knockout Stage
The matchups for the third round of the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage have been decided. Teams holding a 2-0 record will compete for a direct ticket to the Knockout Stage, while those at 1-1 fight to improve their standings. Teams with a 0-2 record face elimination matches, where a loss results in tournament exit.
In the qualifying matches for the Knockout Stage, Gen.G Esports is set to face LYON. The other high-stakes matchup in this bracket features Movistar KOI against Dplus KIA. All qualifying matches will be played in a Best-of-3 format.
The 1-1 bracket includes several high-profile matchups: Hanwha Life Esports vs Invictus Gaming, G2 Esports vs Top Esports, CTBC Flying Oyster vs T1, and Bilibili Gaming vs Karmine Corp. These games are scheduled for October 25 and 26.
For teams at 0-2, the stakes are survival. The elimination matches will see LOS take on Team Secret Whales, and Team Liquid face Anyone's Legend. These matches, like the qualifying round, will utilize the Fearless Draft in a Best-of-3 format. The Swiss Stage concludes on October 31.
